Aotearoa Mana

Aotearoa Mana is a young Male that we decided we just had to purchase a half share in, from Chontelle because we was just too good to let anyone else have him.

We did not own this Male initially but we did breed him (for one of our Daughters actually).
When he as born he was the stand out Cria for that season and looked like a Champion from the day he was born.

Aotearoa Mana 2010
Above is a picture of Mana in January 2010

Mana’s Sire is Gladiator and those of you who know me, will know, I am always going on about how good Gladiator is and how important his blood lines are to our Breeding Herd. Mana is the best Cria Gladiator has ever sired but his dam Amazing, is also the best female he has ever serviced.
For this reason, Mana is a very suitable backup or replacement for Gladiator should anything ever happen to him.

Mana’s Dam (Hadstock N.Z. Amazing) is one of the best Females on our farm (She is owned by our Daughter, Chontelle). Amazing has had 3 Cria now and every one is top quality.

The combination of these two animals had produced a beautiful Solid Medium Fawn Male, with a soft crimpy fleece which is one of the best Fleeces on our farm.

We actually turned down someone who wanted to buy him when he was still a Junior for 25K as we believed it was important to have a Backup Male for Gladiator.

Aotearoa Mana Weaned
The above two pictures are of Mana just after he was weaned

You can see in these pictures how Mana is in perfect Balance and how soft his fleece looks and you can’t imagine how beautiful it is until you open it up.

Mana has extremely clean lines, is well balanced and a very well put together young Male.

He has now been working and we have allowed him to cover a big range of different females to see what he will produce.
We are expecting Mana’s first Cria in July 2010 and we are looking forward to see what he passes onto his Cria.

Mana’s Showing Record

Mana was only ever shown once as a Junior as with Chontelle living in Auckland, could not attend many Shows. He was shown at the National Show in Hamilton in 2007 where he picked up the Reserve Junior Male Championship ……..

We showed his second fleece at the Manawatu A&P Show (2009) where he won the Champion Huacaya Fleece of the Show, At this show he actually beat some top animals at this show, one was the fleece form the National Supreme Champion the year before.

We think this Male has something to offer the Alpaca Industry.

Aotearoa Mana Headshot
A Head Shot of Mana which gives you an idea of how clean his lines are and how soft his fleece is.

Mana is not a big Male (at this stage) and still needs to grow out a bit and we think he will grow into a beautiful Stud Male.
He has a very nice soft nature, is extremely easy to work with and just loves to spend time with the girls.
